massive support from Airtel Ghana to Miss Tourism 2013

Miss Tourism 2013 – Jessica Kawra, delivering a speech at the event
Airtel Ghana, GTA CSR Company of the Year, as part of its environmental sustainability initiative has presented a cash donation to Miss Tourism Ghana 2013, Jessica Kawra, in support of her environmental preservation project.
Miss Jessica Kawra, who launched her foundation in Accra last week, under the umbrella of Miss Tourism Ghana, is committed to promoting Ghana’s comprehensive tourist appeal by sensitizing and educating the youth on tourism best practices and environmental sustainability.
Airtel staff also lent their support to the programme by taking part in the catwalk segment of the launch where models strutted on the runway displaying local made clothes and fabrics made from recycled materials.
Donald Gwira, Head of Corporate Communications, External Affairs and CSR said "We are committed to environmental sustainability and are proud that we are collaborating with Jessica Kawra Miss Tourism 2013 to make a positive impact."
“We at Airtel take CSR as seriously as we take our business operations. We aimed at making a positive impact in the communities in which we operate,” he stated.
According to him, it was in line with the company’s vision of helping preserve the environment that informed their decision to partner Akosombo Paper Mill, a local and leading producer of tissue papers. Airtel would collect the paper through one or more of its logistics partners and will recycle them into specialty paper production at its plant in Akosombo.  Airtel will also utilize its contacts across the value chain in order to make its suppliers and vendors aware of this new opportunity. The initiative will increase the recycling options available in the market and will help divert paper waste from landfills and other dumping sites.
Airtel’s commitment to the environment extends beyond its collaborations with recycling of paper. The company has taken the lead in promoting a “Green Initiative” by converting some of its telecom sites to an innovative Hybrid Battery Bank model (solar, battery and diesel or battery and diesel only) that reduces its carbon footprint across Africa.

Should actors fake kissing in movies? may be because of Ebola - adjetey Annan speak his mind.

Adjeteyanang

Ghanaian actor Adjetey Annan, popularly known as Pusher has suggested that kissing in movies should be faked to prevent actors from contracting the deadly Ebola disease.

The actor in an interview with Joy FM proposed that stakeholders should find ways to make the movie industry healthier.

According to him, kissing in movies should be stopped at this period when the dangerous Ebola is widely spreading.

"These are different times in the country so whatever we are facing, we need to find ways and means of going around it to make our industry healthier.

There is a need for us not really to kiss, but to fake it, we should make it believable with the help of camera angle," he said.

Adding, “you can never know who has the disease. You can’t say that this guy looks healthy, so there is no problem with it. We can continue our kiss when things are clear about the disease.”

Tragedy betide: Tinny is in trouble for ungratefulness to his spiritualist - Prophet warns

Tinnyboyyy

According to a prophet, award-winning musician, real name Nii Addo Quaynor aka Tinny, has been warned by a spiritualist for exhibiting gross ungratefulness to the said spiritualist who happens to be the spiritual father of the artist.

In an exclusive interview with Razz Newspaper, Founder of Elshadai Prayer Ministry located in Spintex, Prophet Samuel Baffoe, claimed that according to what he has seen in the spiritual realm, an old man has warned Tinny to be careful else a tragedy betides him.

“First, I must admit that I don’t know Tinny. If he is standing in front of me right now or he’s on a TV, I won’t be able to make him out. But this is what happened; I was praying for someone and in the process, the revelation came.

I saw a very old man warning Tinny to use someone’s calamity as a lesson. The old man was very serious about what he was telling Tinny. Tinny only looked on without uttering a word,” he declared.

Prophet Baffoe, who is said to have the gift of interpreting spiritual matters, explained in plain terms that the old man is a spiritualist Tinny's spiritual head.

“The old man is Tinny’s spiritual head or father. In other words, Tinny goes to him for spiritual assistance in many forms. However, Tinny has jilted that spiritualist for another spiritualist-which is a very bad conduct. It’s an act of disrespect and gross ungratefulness.”

“The spiritualist is telling Tinny to use someone’s calamity as a lesson. That someone in this sense is Castro, who is feared dead. So, the spiritualist is warning Tinny to be careful, else a mysterious misfortune like that of Castro, do not befall him. Calamity in this sense is death."

On how he got to know that the Tinny he saw is the popular musician, he said: “Personally, I don’t follow your showbiz industry so what I did was that, I called someone who follows showbiz, and the fellow confirmed to me that Tinny is a musician.”

Prophet Baffoe further stated that, there’s more mystery to the revelation about Tinny, but he wish to withhold them in order not to cause too much panic to the artist or his fans.

“I would like to meet him and advise him. If I meet him, I will ask him a lot of questions to see how best we can avert things,” he revealed.
